Electrolyte Washing
OSHA requires in 29 CFR
1910.178, that all employees that handle industrial truck batteries be
trained on situations associated with the charging and changing of
these batteries. This training will prevent exposure to the corrosive
acid that is contained inside industrial truck batteries, which may
cause burns to skin and eyes. Training includes proper handling,
disposal and action to be taken when a spill occurs. This training will
ensure that industrial truck batteries are handled correctly in all
situations.
