Bloodborne
Pathogen
OSHA requires in 29 CFR
1910.1030 that all employees with occupational exposure to bloodborne
pathogens, participate in a training program which must be provided at
no cost to the employee and be held during normal working hours.
Employees will be trained on how to properly recognize and react in a
situation where there is a potential for exposure to a bloodborne
pathogen. This training reduces the risk of transmission of bloodborne
illnesses to employees in situations where exposure or infection may
occur.
