Confined Space
Entry
OSHA requires in 29 CFR 1910.146, that all entrants, attendants and
entrant supervisors of permit required confined spaces be properly
trained on the hazards of entry into permit-required confined spaces.
Only properly trained employees may enter OSHA permitted confined
spaces. This training will properly train employees on all aspects of
confined space entry including; acceptable entry conditions, the
hazards that may be faced during entry, proper use of equipment
associated with entry into a permitted confined space, proper
communication between confined space entrants, attendants, and entrant
supervisors and many other key aspects on how to safely handle all
situations that involve OSHA permitted confined spaces.
