Customs –
Trade Partnership Against Terrorism
The Customs – Trade
Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a new program designed by the
Department of Homeland Security to offer business an opportunity to
play an active role in the war against terrorism. The C-TPAT initiative
is intent on building cooperative relationships and strengthening
supply chain and border security, through close cooperation with
responsible parties at all levels of the supply chain.
Participation
Requirements:

Supply chain
self-assessment, including Procedural, Physical, and Personnel
Security, Education and Training, Access Control, Manifest Procedures,
and Conveyance Security.

Submission of a
supply chain security profile questionnaire to Customs.

Development
and implementation of a security program in accordance with C-TPAT
guidelines.

Communication of
the guidelines to other members of the supply chain and incorporation
of these guidelines into company relationships
