DOT
Security Plan
Since the unfortunate tragedy of September
11, the United States Department Of Transportation (DOT) has taken steps to
increase security of the transportation of hazardous materials. The DOT
issued its final rule on Hazardous Materials Security Requirements on
March 25, 2003. Under this new rule, each person who offers and/or
transports Hazardous Material is subject to the registration
requirements under 49 CFR Part 107 Subpart G. They must develop and
implement a security plan no later than September 25, 2003 and
provide in-depth security training to all hazmat employees by
December 22, 2003.
RCS, Inc. can assist in the development and
application of the security plan. At a minimum, the security plan
must include an assessment of possible transportation security
risks, personnel security, unauthorized access security, and en
route security.
