Lockout/Tagout
Employers must provide training to ensure
that employees understand the purpose and function of the energy
control program. The training includes the knowledge and skills
required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy
controls by employees. This training will help employees to better
understand the hazards of electricity and will increase the safety of
operations involving electricity use and maintenance throughout the
facility. OSHA requires this training under 29 CFR 1910.147.
